A dental bridge is a prosthetic device that replaces one or more missing teeth. It is a custom-made artificial tooth or teeth secured in place by two crowns on adjacent natural teeth, but it’s also sometimes used only on a single tooth.
Bridges are a time-proven solution to missing teeth, and allow patients to achieve a highly aesthetic outcome with a strong new tooth – without the need for multiple invasive surgeries to have an implant placed.
In order to place a dental bridge, our dentist polishes back a small amount of the outer layer of adjacent teeth and take a digital scan of these teeth and the gap – which means no more gooey impressions! We then send this digital scan off to a local dental laboratory where a master technician will personally design and fabricate a replica tooth which is bonded to the adjacent teeth. The end result is a new tooth which looks and chews just like the real thing.
